so, after you concept what comes next? a base mesh of your character. This mesh is roughly around 30000 quads.Now with everything separated and layered correctly Il import into zbrush and begin to really get the sculpting going.

This is the first image taken of my new ship.. Titan. Its approximately 30 km long in maya space. I plan on adding a load of tiny detail so that its compatible with extreme close ups... and additionally making both half's non symmetrical. I came across a render farm site that lets you render however much you want for a decent amount of coin a month, so once this baby is all built ( shes about 25% there now) im going to be animating the crap outta this ship. There service can produce about 300% more frames than my crappy home pc, so il have a pretty wide birth to render huge scenes with particles and as many lights as this ship can handle. Currently my computer gets buggy when lights are employed.. so i say let the farm handle it.

Finally got my ship to a point i liked it. Over 2 million polygons and rendered in fryrender. I used photoshop over the render with some random samples of clouds painted together, then processed the image in magic bullet looks. Finally back into photoshop to add the lens flares and some noise. Ive included the ambient occlusion pass as well to illustrate the detail.

Here ya go, shes all shined up and HOT of the assembly line. i particularly liked using the Wagner, classical music has such power. Its kind of random that allot of it hit certain beats. Early today ( very early, i couldn't sleep thanks to some ass riding a very loud Harley down my street several times from 4:05 am to 6:55) I digress. Anyways, after effects decided that it was going to curse me with rendering issues, and mis syncing audio, i was just going to leave out the sound fx, and leave the music as it was from an earlier successful render. Thankfully windows movie maker was able to do what after effects failed to do. Thanks bill gates for making something that's windows based that actually works.

Id also like to ask for some serious, critiques as well.... if your passing through and anything happens to stare you in the face, by all means. I'm also looking for some compositional critique as well, as its something i really need to push. Looking at great films like Brazil, and 2001, you start to grasp how its a dying art. All in due time..

The past 2 weeks ive been going over to the collage, rambling to the students etc, and i made a test for them to animate. Well when i was over there yesterday i told them wile they do the test, im going to do a short involving the same character and the same line... just elaborate on it, just to show them how far you can take a simple thing. Today is the first day of production, and im one scene down, 7 to go.

So as of late ive been feeling myself slip into a bit of an animation funk. Lacking motivation, and wondering if il ever be able to hit that pinical ive been striving for the past 6 years. ( yes i know it takes a long time)

Well in that bain ive decided to anime nerd it up and challenge myself. Naruto as many are aware is a pretty excellently animated show. And as a reader of its manga i decided to try animating a sequence from its newest chapter. Why you say???? because its ridiculously hard. Animated bgs, crazy fx and kiju frogs that get the crap kicked out of them. What more could an animator want. So over the next few month's im going to be putting this together. im leaving a youtube link with the first 2 scenes, and a still of the 3rd. Plus il even throw in a couple chapter pages so you can see what is so terrifying about doing this.

Im also going to be doing up some animation tutorials in flash. Its time i gave back.
